Marshlands Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DD EE FF GG

A thin wet sky that yellows at the rimA
And meets with sun lost lip the marsh's brimA
-
The pools low lying dank with moss and mouldB
Glint through their mildews like large cups of goldB
-
Among the wild rice in the still lagoonC
In monotone the lizard shrills his tuneC
-
The wild goose homing seeks a shelteringD
Where rushes grow and oozing lichens clingD
-
Late cranes with heavy wing and lazy flightE
Sail up the silence with the nearing nightE
-
And like a spirit swathed in some soft veilF
Steals twilight and its shadows o'er the swaleF
-
Hushed lie the sedges and the vapours creepG
Thick grey and humid while the marshes sleepG
