Erie Waters Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBB CCCDDD EEEFFF

A dash of yellow sandA
Wind scattered and sun tannedA
Some waves that curl and cream along the margin of the strandA
And creeping close to theseB
Long shores that lounge at easeB
Old Erie rocks and ripples to a fresh sou' western breezeB
-
A sky of blue and greyC
Some stormy clouds that playC
At scurrying up with ragged edge then laughing blow awayC
Just leaving in their trailD
Some snatches of a galeD
To whistling summer winds we lift a single daring sailD
-
O wind so sweet and swiftE
O danger freighted giftE
Bestowed on Erie with her waves that foam and fall and liftE
We laugh in your wild faceF
And break into a raceF
With flying clouds and tossing gulls that weave and interlaceF
