Rhyme Scheme: A BCDCEE FGFGEE HIJIEE

TennysonA
-
Time and its ally Dark DisarmamentB
Have compassed me aboutC
Have massed their armies and on battle bentD
My forces put to routC
But though I fight alone and fall and dieE
Talk terms of Peace Not IE
-
They war upon my fortress and their gunsF
Are shattering its wallsG
My army plays the cowards' part and runsF
Pierced by a thousand ballsG
They call for my surrender I replyE
Give quarter now Not IE
-
They've shot my flag to ribbons but in rentsH
It floats above the heightI
Their ensign shall not crown my battlementsJ
While I can stand and fightI
I fling defiance at them as I cryE
Capitulate Not IE
