There's Been A Death In The Opposite House Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EDFG EHIJ KLMN OPAP QRST

There's been a death in the opposite houseA
As lately as to dayB
I know it by the numb lookC
Such houses have alwayD
-
The neighbors rustle in and outE
The doctor drives awayD
A window opens like a podF
Abrupt mechanicallyG
-
Somebody flings a mattress outE
The children hurry byH
They wonder if It died on thatI
I used to when a boyJ
-
The minister goes stiffly inK
As if the house were hisL
And he owned all the mourners nowM
And little boys besidesN
-
And then the milliner and the manO
Of the appalling tradeP
To take the measure of the houseA
There'll be that dark paradeP
-
Of tassels and of coaches soonQ
It's easy as a signR
The intuition of the newsS
In just a country townT
