A
-
There came a Day at Summer's fullB
Entirely for meC
I thought that such were for the SaintsD
Where Resurrections beC
-
The Sun as common went abroadE
The flowers accustomed blewF
As if no soul the solstice passedG
That maketh all things newF
-
The time was scarce profaned by speechH
The symbol of a wordI
Was needless as at SacramentJ
The Wardrobe of our LordK
-
Each was to each The Sealed ChurchL
Permitted to commune this timeM
Lest we too awkward showN
At Supper of the LambO
-
The Hours slid fast as Hours willP
Clutched tight by greedy handsQ
So faces on two Decks look backR
Bound to opposing landsQ
-
And so when all the time had leakedS
Without external soundT
Each bound the Other's CrucifixU
We gave no other BondV
-
Sufficient troth that we shall riseW
Deposed at length the GraveX
To that new MarriageY
Justified through Calvaries of LoveZ
