The Sun-just touched the Morning-
The Morning-Happy thing-
Supposed that He had come to dwell-
And Life would all be Spring!
She felt herself supremer-
A Raised-Ethereal Thing!
Henceforth-for Her-What Holiday!
Meanwhile-Her wheeling King-
Trailed-slow-along the Orchards-
His haughty-spangled Hems-
Leaving a new necessity!
The want of Diadems!
The Morning-fluttered-staggered-
Felt feebly-for Her Crown-
Her unanointed forehead-
Henceforth-Her only One!
