No Notice gave She but a ChangeB
No Message but a SighC
For Whom the Time did not sufficeD
That She should specifyC
-
She was not warm though Summer shoneE
Nor scrupulous of coldF
Though Rime by Rime the steady FrostG
Upon Her Bosom piledH
-
Of shrinking ways she did not frightI
Though all the Village lookedJ
But held Her gravity aloftK
And met the gaze directL

And when adjusted like a SeedM
In careful fitted GroundN
Unto the Everlasting SpringO
And hindered but a MoundN
-
Her Warm return if so she choseP
And We imploring drewQ
Removed our invitation byC
As Some She never knewQ
