A
-
Again his voice is at the doorB
I feel the old DegreeC
I hear him ask the servantD
For such an one as meC
-
I take a flower as I goE
My face to justifyF
He never saw me in this lifeG
I might surprise his eyeF
-
I cross the Hall with mingled stepsH
I silent pass the doorB
I look on all this world containsI
Just his face nothing moreB
-
We talk in careless and it tossJ
A kind of plummet strainK
Each sounding shylyC
Just how deepL
The other's one had beenM
-
We walk I leave my Dog at homeN
A tender thoughtful MoonO
Goes with us just a little wayP
And then we are aloneQ
-
Alone if Angels are aloneQ
First time they try the skyF
Alone if those veiled faces beC
We cannot count on HighF
-
I'd give to live that hour againR
The purple in my VeinK
But He must count the drops himselfS
My price for every stainK
