Love And Friendship Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHGH

Love is like the wild rose briarA
Friendship like the holly treeB
The holly is dark when the rose briar bloomsC
But which will bloom most constantlyB
-
The wild rose briar is sweet in the springD
Its summer blossoms scent the airE
Yet wait till winter comes againF
And who will call the wild briar fairE
-
Then scorn the silly rose wreath nowG
And deck thee with the holly's sheenH
That when December blights thy browG
He may still leave thy garland greenH
