How Clear She Shines. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEF GHGHIAIA BJBJCACA KHKHLMLMNONO

How clear she shines How quietlyA
I lie beneath her guardian lightB
While heaven and earth are whispering meA
To morrow wake but dream to nightB
Yes Fancy come my Fairy loveC
These throbbing temples softly kissD
And bend my lonely couch aboveC
And bring me rest and bring me blissD
-
The world is going dark world adieuE
Grim world conceal thee till the dayF
The heart thou canst not all subdueE
Must still resist if thou delayF
-
Thy love I will not will not shareG
Thy hatred only wakes a smileH
Thy griefs may wound thy wrongs may tearG
But oh thy lies shall ne'er beguileH
While gazing on the stars that glowI
Above me in that stormless seaA
I long to hope that all the woeI
Creation knows is held in theeA
-
And this shall be my dream to nightB
I'll think the heaven of glorious spheresJ
Is rolling on its course of lightB
In endless bliss through endless yearsJ
I'll think there's not one world aboveC
Far as these straining eyes can seeA
Where Wisdom ever laughed at LoveC
Or Virtue crouched to InfamyA
-
Where writhing 'neath the strokes of FateK
The mangled wretch was forced to smileH
To match his patience 'gainst her hateK
His heart rebellious all the whileH
Where Pleasure still will lead to wrongL
And helpless Reason warn in vainM
And Truth is weak and Treachery strongL
And Joy the surest path to PainM
And Peace the lethargy of GriefN
And Hope a phantom of the soulO
And life a labour void and briefN
And Death the despot of the wholeO
