The Golf Walk Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FFGH CCII

Behold my child this touching sceneA
The golfer on the golfing greenA
Pray mark his legs' uncanny swingB
The golf walk is a gruesome thingB
-
See how his arms and shoulders rideC
Above his legs in haughty prideC
While over bunker hill and lawnD
His feet relentless drag him onE
-
And does the man walk always soF
Nay nay I my child and eke oh noF
It is a gait he only knowsG
When he has on his golfing clothesH
-
Blame not the man for that strange strideC
He could not help it if he triedC
It is his timid feet that tryI
From his obstreperous clothes to flyI
