The Daughter Of The Year Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFF GGHH

Nature when she made thee dearA
Begged the treasures of the yearA
For thy cheeks all pink and whiteB
Spring gave apple blossoms lightB
Summer for thy matchless eyesC
Gave the azure of her skiesC
Autumn spun her gold and redD
In a mass of silken threadD
Gold and red and sunlight rareE
For the wonder of thy hairE
Surly Winter would impartF
But his coldness for thy heartF
-
Dearest let the love I bringG
Turn thy Winter into SpringG
What are Summer Spring and FallH
If thy Winter chills them allH
