When I taught Ida how to ride aA
Bicycle that nightB
I ran beside her just to guide herC
Erring wheel arightB
And many times there in the streetB
She rode upon my weary feetB

But now can Ida mount and ride aA
Wheel with graceful easeD
And I untiring in admiringE
Fall upon my kneesD
To worship her and for her partB
She rides upon my proffered heartB
