The great millennium is at handA
Redder apples grow on the treeB
A saxophone is in ev'ry bandA
Brandy no longer taints our teaB
Dimples smile in the red rouged kneeB
The dowagers are no longer fatC
Radio now makes safe the seaB
And the Turk has bought him a derby hatC
-
Even our sauerkraut now is cannedA
Verse is a dangsight more than freeB
A highboy now is the old dish standA
Ev'ry flapper has her night keyB
Chopin is jazzed into melodyB
A child is a kiddie and not a bratC
Bosses and miners at last agreeB
And the Turk has bought him a derby hatC
-
All firewaters are bravely bannedA
There is a ballot for every sheB
The hairpin now is a contrabandA
A New York mayor gets some sympathyB
My dealer brings some coal to meB
The plumber is an aristocratC
In Miami all millionaires may beB
And the Turk has bought him a derby hatC
-
Son the millennium is at handA
What though Armenians be mashed flatC
The world is getting just perfectly grandA
For the Turk has bought him a derby hatC
