Maude's Valentine Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHGH

Last year I rhymed a valentineA
And penned it on a dainty sheetB
Of pink note paper and I laidC
The offering at Kate's feetB
-
I have a copy here at handD
Oh Dearest Kate the lines beginE
Oh Dearest Kate has married sinceF
And now I strive fair Maude to winE
-
And so to night I take my penG
And as my muse is slow of lateH
I use that valentine againG
Just substituting Maude for KateH
