Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLKWhene'er I feed the barnyard folk | A |
My gentle soul is vexed | B |
My sensibilities are torn | C |
And I am sore perplexed | B |
- | |
The rooster so politely stands | D |
While waiting for his food | E |
But when I feed him what a change | F |
He then is rough and rude | E |
- | |
He crowds his gentle wives aside | G |
Or pecks them on the head | H |
Sometimes I think it would be best | I |
If he were never fed | H |
- | |
And so I often stand for hours | J |
Deciding which is right | K |
To impolitely have enough | L |
Or starve and be polite | K |
