New And Old Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCA DEEDED

I and new love in all its living bloomA
Sat vis vis while tender twilight hoursB
Went softly by us treading as on flowersB
Then suddenly I saw within the roomA
The old love long since lying in its tombA
It dropped the cerecloth from its fleshless faceC
And smiled on me with a remembered graceC
That like the noontide lit the gloaming gloomA
-
Upon its shroud there hung the grave s green mouldD
About it hung the odour of the deadE
Yet from its cavernous eyes such light was shedE
That all my life seemed gilded as with goldD
Unto the trembling new love Go I saidE
I do not need thee for I have the oldD
