The Spring Afar Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNON

Far from the empire of my present daysA
Where I perforce remainB
The wild fresh airs of Spring blow to and froC
Piping out Winter's reignB
-
I know the rosy wind flowers spread like cloudsD
Above the leafy mouldE
And pollard willows over shallow poolsF
Stretch out their rods of goldE
-
I hear the waters in the mossy swampsG
Start on their ocean questH
Gliding through meadows murmuring in woodsI
Till reaching final restH
-
Fixed in my thoughts is Spring so long remoteJ
Though Spring cannot endowK
As Summer can or yield sweet Autumn's peaceL
'T is that my heart needs nowK
-
Or hope maybe that Spring and Hope are oneM
Therefore I should not askN
For leave from this my place both may be nearO
Behind my daily maskN
