| Of old my dwelling place where all my race | I |
| Are buried At first I was enchanted here | J |
| Impossible appeared the pall the shroud | K |
| And in my spell I trod the grassy streets | L |
| Where in the summer days mild oxen drew | M |
| The bristling hay and in the winter snows | N |
| The creaking masts and knees for mighty ships | O |
| Whose hulls were parted on the coral reefs | P |
| Or foundered in the depth of Arctic nights | Q |
| I wandered through the gardens rank and waste | R |
| Wonderful once when I was like the flowers | C |
| Along the weedy paths grew roses still | S |
| Surviving empire but remaining queens | T |

| Slumber with slumber dream with dream should be | V |

| Past city walls whose towers and palaces | G2 |
| By slaves were builded and by princes fallen | E2 |
| And books whose pages ever told one tale | H2 |
| The tale of human love in joy or pain | I2 |
| The seed of our last hope Eternity | V |

| Morn came eve went and we were tranquil still | S |
