Closed Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMDNOPJOQThe crimson dawn breaks through the clouded east | A |
And waking breezes round the casement pipe | B |
They blow the globes of dew from opening buds | C |
And steal the odors of the sleeping flowers | D |
The swallow calls its young ones from the eaves | E |
To dart above their shadows on the lake | F |
Till its long rollers redden in the sun | G |
And bend the lances of the mirrored pines | H |
Who knows the miracle that brings the morn | I |
Still in my house I linger though the night | J |
The night that hides me from myself is gone | K |
Light robes the world but strips me bare again | L |
I will not follow on the paths of day | M |
I know the dregs within its crystal hours | D |
The bearers of my cups have served me well | N |
I drained them and the bearers come no more | O |
Rise morning rise for those believing souls | P |
Who seek completion in day's garish light | J |
My casement I will close keep shut my door | O |
Till day and night are only dreams to me | Q |
