As One Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGD HIJD KLMD NOPD QHRD STUD EVWD

When I enclosed within the city's wallsA
Behold the multitudes that come and goB
Hands clenched on gain and nature all deniedC
Then I recall recall the drift of timeD
-
But when she proffered all her wealth to meE
The first faint blossom of the spring I shareF
The latest autumn leaf the last green bladeG
Then I forget forget the drift of timeD
-
The months go by and take me in their trainH
The vesture wrapping them enfolds me tooI
And all the journey through we seem as oneJ
And I forget forget the drift of timeD
-
I hear the bluebird's call in windy dawnsK
The robin's cheery note from dewy fieldsL
The swallow's cry along the pool at eveM
And I forget forget the drift of timeD
-
When hedges give the prophecy of birdsN
And sunbeams play on the expectant boughsO
The leaves uncurl and fill their veins with lifeP
And I forget forget the drift of timeD
-
I watch a tumult in the summer skiesQ
A blur of sunshine and the rush of rainH
The tempest dying in the twilight's hushR
And I forget forget the drift of timeD
-
When winter woods are armored by the frostS
And all the highways filled with soundless snowsT
Then comes the sun to show his golden palmU
And I forget forget the drift of timeD
-
The mountains look upon me and the seaE
I hover on their crests in silver mistsV
And with the waters pass beyond their vergeW
And I forget forget the drift of timeD
