Worn Out Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DCDC AEFE GHIJ AKLK

Thy strong arms are around me loveA
My head is on thy breastB
Low words of comfort come from theeC
Yet my soul has no restB
-
For I am but a startled thingD
Nor can I ever beC
Aught save a bird whose broken wingD
Must fly away from theeC
-
I cannot give to thee the loveA
I gave so long agoE
The love that turned and struck me downF
Amid the blinding snowE
-
I can but give a failing heartG
And weary eyes of painH
A faded mouth that cannot smileI
And may not laugh againJ
-
Yet keep thine arms around me loveA
Until I fall to sleepK
Then leave me saying no goodbyeL
Lest I might wake and weepK
