Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCD EFEGHHG

She said to one How glowsA
My heart at the hot thoughtB
Of battle s glorious throesA
He said For us who foughtB
Are icy memoriesC
That must for ever freezeC
The sunny hours they boughtD
-
She said to one How lightE
Must your freed heart be nowF
After the heavy fightE
He said Well I don t knowG
The war gave one a shakeH
Somehow knocked one awakeH
Now life s so deadly slowG
