To Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDEF GHHI JKKJ LMML NOPN BQQB RSST

Mine is a wayward layA
And if its echoing rhymes I try to stringB
Proveth a truant thingB
Whenso some names I love send it awayA
-
For then eyes swimming o'erC
And clasped hands and smiles in fondness meantD
Are much more eloquentE
So it had fain begone and speak no moreF
-
Yet shall it come againG
Ah friend belov'd if so thy wishes beH
And with wild melodyH
I will upon thine ear cadence my strainI
-
Cadence my simple lineJ
Unfashion'd by the cunning hand of ArtK
But coming from my heartK
To tell the message of its love to thineJ
-
As ocean shells when takenL
From Ocean's bed will faithfully repeatM
Her ancient music sweetM
Ev'n so these words true to my heart shall wakenL
-
Oh while our bark is seenN
Our little bark of kindly social loveO
Down life's clear stream to moveP
Toward the summer shores where all is greenN
-
So long thy name shall bringB
Echoes of joy unto the grateful galesQ
And thousand tender talesQ
To freshen the fond hearts that round thee clingB
-
Hast thou not look'd uponR
The flowerets of the field in lowly dressS
Blame not my simplenessS
Think only of my love my song is goneT
