The Look Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBCDEDEDE

The Saviour looked on Peter Ay no wordA
No gesture of reproach the Heavens sereneB
Though heavy with armed justice did not leanB
Their thunders that way the forsaken LordC
Looked only on the traitor None recordC
What that look was none guess for those who have seenB
Wronged lovers loving through a death pang keenB
Or pale cheeked martyrs smiling to a swordC
Have missed Jehovah at the judgment callD
And Peter from the height of blasphemyE
'I never knew this man ' did quail and fallD
As knowing straight THAT GOD and turned freeE
And went out speechless from the face of allD
And filled the silenc weeping bitterlyE
