Sonnets From The Portuguese Xlii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBBBBCBCBCB

My future will not copy fair my pastA
I wrote that once and thinking at my sideB
My ministering life angel justifiedB
The word by his appealing look upcastB
To the white throne of God I turned at lastB
And there instead saw thee not unalliedB
To angels in thy soul Then I long triedB
By natural ills received the comfort fastB
While budding at thy sight my pilgrim's staffC
Gave out green leaves with morning dews impearledB
I seek no copy now of life's first halfC
Leave here the pages with long musing curledB
And write me new my future's epigraphC
New angel mine unhoped for in the worldB
