Sonnets From The Portuguese Vii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

The face of all the world is changed I thinkA
Since first I heard the footsteps of thy soulB
Move still oh still beside me as they stoleB
Betwixt me and the dreadful outer brinkA
Of obvious death where I who thought to sinkA
Was caught up into love and taught the wholeB
Of life in a new rhythm The cup of doleB
God gave for baptism I am fain to drinkA
And praise its sweetness Sweet with thee anearC
The names of country heaven are changed awayD
For where thou art or shalt be there or hereC
And this this lute and song loved yesterdayD
The singing angels know are only dearC
Because thy name moves right in what they sayD
