Sonnet Xlii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAAAABABABA' My future will not copy fair my past' | A |
I wrote that once and thinking at my side | A |
My ministering life angel justified | A |
The word by his appealing look upcast | A |
To the white throne of God I turned at last | A |
And there instead saw thee not unallied | A |
To angels in thy soul Then I long tried | A |
By natural ills received the comfort fast | A |
While budding at thy sight my pilgrim's staff | B |
Gave out green leaves with morning dews impearled | A |
I seek no copy now of life's first half | B |
Leave here the pages with long musing curled | A |
And write me new my future's epigraph | B |
New angel mine unhoped for in the world | A |
