Sonnet 22 - When Our Two Souls Stand Up Erect And Strong Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCBDEDEDE

XXIIA
-
When our two souls stand up erect and strongB
Face to face silent drawing nigh and nigherC
Until the lengthening wings break into fireC
At either curved point what bitter wrongB
Can the earth do to us that we should not longB
Be here contented Think In mounting higherC
The angels would press on us and aspireC
To drop some golden orb of perfect songB
Into our deep dear silence Let us stayD
Rather on earth Beloved where the unfitE
Contrarious moods of men recoil awayD
And isolate pure spirits and permitE
A place to stand and love in for a dayD
With darkness and the death hour rounding itE
