Sonnet 14 - If Thou Must Love Me, Let It Be For Nought Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBBCBDEDEDB

XIVA
-
If thou must love me let it be for noughtB
Except for love's sake only Do not sayC
'I love her for her smile her look her wayC
Of speaking gently for a trick of thoughtB
That falls in well with mine and certes broughtB
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day'B
For these things in themselves Beloved mayC
Be changed or change for thee and love so wroughtB
May be unwrought so Neither love me forD
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dryE
A creature might forget to weep who boreD
Thy comfort long and lose thy love therebyE
But love me for love's sake that evermoreD
Thou mayst love on through love's eternityB
