From -the Soul-s Travelling- Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEFGCCHIJ KIKLLIMNMNOPQINRRN

God GodA
With a child s voice I cryB
Weak sad confidinglyC
God GodA
Thou knowest eyelids raised not always upD
Unto Thy love as none of ours are droopE
As ours o er many a tearF
Thou knowest though Thy universe is broadG
Two little tears suffice to cover allC
Thou knowest Thou who art so prodigalC
Of beauty we are oft but stricken deerH
Expiring in the woods that care for noneI
Of those delightsome flowers they die uponJ
-
O blissful Mouth which breathed the mournful breathK
We name our souls self spoilt by that strong passionI
Which paled Thee once with sighs by that strong deathK
Which made Thee once unbreathing from the wrackL
Themselves have called around them call them backL
Back to Thee in continuous aspirationI
For here O LordM
For here they travel vainly vainly passN
From city pavement to untrodden swardM
Where the lark finds her deep nest in the grassN
Cold with the earth s last dew Yea very vainO
The greatest speed of all these souls of menP
Unless they travel upward to the throneQ
Where sittest THOU the satisfying ONEI
With help for sins and holy perfectingsN
For all requirements while the archangel raisingR
Unto Thy face his full ecstatic gazingR
Forgets the rush and rapture of his wingsN
