Phases Of The Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGG

Once upon a time I heardA
That the flying moon was a Phoenix birdA
Thus she sails through windy skiesB
Thus in the willow's arms she liesB
Turn to the East or turn to the WestC
In many trees she makes her nestC
When she's but a pearly threadD
Look among birch leaves overheadD
When she dies in yellow smokeE
Look in a thunder smitten oakE
But in May when the moon is fullF
Bright as water and white as woolF
Look for her where she loves to beG
Asleep in a high magnolia treeG
