Beauty has a tarnished dressB
And a patchwork cloak of clothC
Dipped deep in mournfulnessB
Striped like a mothC
-
Wet grass where it trailsB
Dyes it green along the hemD
She has seven silver veilsB
With cracked bells on themD
-
She is tired of all theseB
Grey gauze translucent lawnE
The broad cloak of HeraklesB
Is tangled flame and fawnE
-
Water and light are wearing thinF
She has drawn above her headG
The warm enormous lion skinF
Rough red and goldH
