Ocean: An Ode. Concluding With A Wish. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEFFGGHH

What do we see Cato then becomeA
A greater name in Britain than in RomeB
Does mankind now admire his virtues moreC
Though Lucan Horace Virgil wrote beforeC
How will posterity this truth explainD
Cato begins to live in Anna's reignD
The world's great chiefs in council or in armsE
Rise in your lines with more exalted charmsE
Illustrious deeds in distant nations wroughtF
And virtues by departed heroes taughtF
Raise in your soul a pure immortal flameG
Adorn your life and consecrate your fameG
To your renown all ages you subdueH
And Caesar fought and Cato bled for youH
