Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEEE EAEAEE FGHGII EJEJEE KLKLMN OPQPEE

Ezekiel David my Servant shall be their KingA
-
Dull dull indeed What shall it e'er be thusB
And why Are not Thy promises my LordC
Rich quick'ning things How should my full cheeks blushD
To find me thus And those a lifeless wordE
My heart is heedless unconcerned hereatE
I find my spirits spiritless and flatE
-
Thou court'st mine eyes in sparkling colors brightE
Most bright indeed and soul enamouringA
With the most shining sun whose beams did smiteE
Me with delightful smiles to make me springA
Embellished knots of love assault my mindE
Which still is dull as if this sun n'er shinedE
-
David in all his gallantry now comesF
Bringing to tend Thy shrine his royal gloryG
Rich prowess prudence victories sweet songsH
And piety to pencil out Thy storyG
To draw my heart to Thee in this brave shineI
Of typic beams most warm But still I pineI
-
Shall not this lovely beauty Lord set outE
In dazzling shining flashes 'fore mine eyeJ
Enchant my heart love's golden mine till 't spoutE
Out streams of love refin'd that on Thee lieJ
Thy glory's great Thou David's kingdom shaltE
Enjoy for aye I want and that's my faultE
-
Spare me my Lord spare me I greatly prayK
Let me Thy gold pass through Thy fire untilL
Thy fire refine and take my filth awayK
That I may shine like gold and have my fillL
Of love for Thee until my virginalM
Chime out in changes sweet Thy praises shallN
-
Wipe off my rust Lord with Thy wisp me scourO
And make Thy beams perch on my strings their blazeP
My tunes clothe with Thy shine and quavers pourQ
My cursing strings on loaded with Thy praiseP
My fervant love with music in her handE
Shall then attend Thyself and Thy commandE
