Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGF HIHIJKLM NONOPQPQ RSRTUVUV

Flag of the free our sable siresA
Have borne thee oft beforeB
Into hot battles' hell lit firesC
Against the fiercest foeD
When first he shook his shaggy meinE
And made the welkin ringF
Brave Attucks fell upon the PlainG
Thy stripes first crimsoningF
-
Thy might and majesty we hurlH
Against the bolts of MarsI
And from thy ample folds unfurlH
Thy field of flaming starsI
Fond hope to nations in distressJ
Thy starry gleam shall giveK
The stricken in the wildernessL
Shall look to thee and liveM
-
What matter if where Boreas roarsN
Or where sweet zephyr smilesO
What matter if where eagle soarsN
Or in the sunlit islesO
Thy flowing crimson stripes shall waveP
Above the bluish brineQ
Emblazoned ensign of the braveP
And Liberty enshrineQ
-
Flag of the free still float on highR
Through every age to comeS
Bright beacon of the azure skyR
True light of Freedom's domeT
'Till nations all shall cease to gropeU
In vain for libertyV
O shine last lingering star of hopeU
Of all humanityV
