They went to sea in a Sieve they didB
In a Sieve they went to seaC
In spite of all their friends could sayD
On a winter's morn on a stormy dayD
In a Sieve they went to seaC
And when the Sieve turned round and roundE
And every one cried 'You'll all be drowned '-
They called aloud 'Our Sieve ain't bigF
But we don't care a button we don't care a figF
In a Sieve we'll go to sea '-
Far and few far and fewG
Are the lands where the Jumblies liveH
Their heads are green and their hands are blueG
And they went to sea in a SieveI

They sailed away in a Sieve they didB
In a Sieve they sailed so fastJ
With only a beautiful pea green veilK
Tied with a riband by way of a sailK
To a small tobacco pipe mastJ
And every one said who saw them goL
'O won't they be soon upset you knowL
For the sky is dark and the voyage is longM
And happen what may it's extremely wrongM
In a Sieve to sail so fast '-
Far and few far and fewG
Are the lands where the Jumblies liveH
Their heads are green and their hands are blueG
And they went to sea in a SieveI

The water it soon came in it didB
The water it soon came inN
So to keep them dry they wrapped their feetO
In a pinky paper all folded neatO
And they fastened it down with a pinN
And they passed the night in a crockery jarP
And each of them said 'How wise we areP
Though the sky be dark and the voyage be longM
Yet we never can think we were rash or wrongM
While round in our Sieve we spin '-
Far and few far and fewG
Are the lands where the Jumblies liveH
Their heads are green and their hands are blueG
And they went to sea in a SieveI

And all night long they sailed awayD
And when the sun went downQ
They whistled and warbled a moony songM
To the echoing sound of a coppery gongM
In the shade of the mountains brownQ
'O Timballo How happy we areP
When we live in a Sieve and a crockery jarP
And all night long in the moonlight paleK
We sail away with a pea green sailK
In the shade of the mountains brown '-
Far and few far and fewI
Are the lands where the Jumblies liveI
Their heads are green and their hands are blueI
And they went to sea in a SieveI

They sailed to the Western Sea they didB
To a land all covered with treesR
And they bought an Owl and a useful CartS
And a pound of Rice and a Cranberry TartS
And a hive of silvery BeesR
And they bought a Pig and some green Jack dawsT
And a lovely Monkey with lollipop pawsT
And forty bottles of Ring Bo ReeI
And no end of Stilton CheeseR
Far and few far and fewI
Are the lands where the Jumblies liveI
Their heads are green and their hands are blueI
And they went to sea in a SieveI

And in twenty years they all came backU
In twenty years or moreV
And every one said 'How tall they've grownW
For they've been to the Lakes and the Torrible ZoneW
And the hills of the Chankly Bore '-
And they drank their health and gave them a feastX
Of dumplings made of beautiful yeastX
And every one said 'If we only liveI
We too will go to sea in a SieveI
To the hills of the Chankly Bore '-
Far and few far and fewI
Are the lands where the Jumblies liveI
Their heads are green and their hands are blueI
And they went to sea in a SieveI
