The Weeds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF BBCCGG

Brown passed away and Mrs BrownA
In weeds all smothered went through townA
By Brown's neat grave to take her standB
And hold a metaphoric handB
She diligently drove awayC
The sorrel springing every dayC
-
When Mrs Robert Wittle diedD
Poor Bob would sit her grave besideD
On Sunday afternoons and shedE
His briny tribute to the deadE
And dimpled Mrs brown and heF
Had quite a bond of sympathyF
-
But presently I understandB
'Twas Bob who held the widow's handB
She decker herself in orange sprayC
And all her weeds she cast awayC
Now where the sorrel sheds its seedsG
Brown's grave is thick with widow's weedsG
