We re more than partners Ned 'n' meA
Two sections permanently rightedB
Yiv seen us on the mooch maybeA
Like remnants lovin'ly unitedC
Ned's only got one stump the leftD
By 'appy chance I've got its brotherE
Of his two dukes he's been bereftD
My left was mauled 'n' had to goF
It fortunitly 'appens thoughF
I kept the otherE
-
Ned lost one ear the left 'n' struthF
He dropped the correspondin' weeperE
A Hun he crooled me lovely youthF
By bombin' out me right 'and peeperE
He done a guy too with me earE
The right 'n' now I dunno whetherE
'Twas Fate's intention butt it's clearE
When trimmed each as the other's mateG
'Twas up to us two soon or lateG
To get togetherE
-
'Board ship there's me like arf a peachH
'N' Ned's the other arf but soon itI
Strikes' Bill Carkeek that side by eachH
We makes a satisfact'rv unitJ
A 'andy cobber on the shipK
Fakes up for us a set of clutchesL
That damps us firmly hip to hipK
In seven minutes we can pegM
The mile out on a timber legM
'N' two steel crutchesN
-
We now go halves like Si'mese twinsO
'N' as a team I hold we're boskerE
The blighter on the street that grinsO
Has got to deal with Edwin OscarE
At balls we two step waltz 'n' swingP
'N' proppin' walls no one has seen usQ
When at the bar I never ringP
The double on ole Ned For bothF
One hand must serve 'n' on me oathF
It's fair between usQ
-
We jolt one knife 'n' fork 'n' findR
One horse enough for both to ride onS
And neither feller rides behindR
Some sez we put a pile of side onS
Well where's the single handed braceT
Will take us on We'll put the peg inU
Train fine 'n' jump or box or raceT
Or wrestle them 'n' more than thatV
To clinch a match so 'elp me catV
We'll throw a leg inU
-
He's five feet eight I'm little lessW
He's Roman I'm a sort of ProddyV
But no sectarian bitternessQ
Will disunite this sec'lar bodyV
We're hitched for good we're two in oneX
Our taste's the same from togs to tippleY
But straight it makes me sad ole sonX
To think if he should croak or meV
The pore bloke what is left might beV
A bloomin' crippleY
