Sweet Love, Sweet Thorn, When Lightly To My Heart Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

Sweet love sweet thorn when lightly to my heartA
I took your thrust whereby I since am slainB
And lie disheveled in the grass apartA
A sodden thing bedrenched by tears and rainB
While rainy evening drips to misty nightC
And misty night to cloudy morning clearsD
And clouds disperse across the gathering lightC
And birds grow noisy and the sun appearsD
Had I bethought me then sweet love sweet thornE
How sharp an anguish even at the bestF
When all's requited and the future swornE
The happy Hour can leave within the breastF
I had not so come running at the callG
Of one whoe loves me little if at allG
