Sonnets I Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACCCCCC

We talk of taxes and I call you friendA
Well such you are but well enough we knowB
How thick about us root how rankly growB
Those subtle weeds no man has need to tendA
That flourish through neglect and soon must sendA
Perfume too sweet upon us and overthrowB
Our steady senses how such matters goB
We are aware and how such matters endA
Yet shall be told no meagre passion hereC
With lovers such as we forevermoreC
Isolde drinks the draught and GuinevereC
Receives the Table's ruin through her doorC
Francesca with the loud surf at her earC
Lets fall the colored book upon the floorC
