Euclid Alone Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCCD

Euclid alone has looked on Beauty bareA
Let all who prate of Beauty hold their peaceB
And lay them prone upon the earth and ceaseB
To ponder on themselves the while they stareA
At nothing intricately drawn nowhereA
In shapes of shifting lineage let geeseB
Gabble and hiss but heroes seek releaseB
From dusty bondage into luminous airA
O blinding hour O holy terrible dayC
When first the shaft into his vision shoneD
Of light anatomized Euclid aloneD
Has looked on Beauty bare Fortunate theyC
Who though once only and then but far awayC
Have heard her massive sandal set on stoneD
