Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBDBDDEDEDDSee how the stubborne damzell doth depraue | A |
my simple meaning with disdaynfull scorne | B |
and by the bay which I vnto her gaue | C |
accoumpts my selfe her captiue quite forlorne | B |
The bay quoth she is of the victours borne | B |
yielded them by the vanquisht as theyr meeds | D |
and they therewith doe poetes heads adorne | B |
to sing the glory of their famous deedes | D |
But sith she will the conquest challeng needs | D |
let her accept me as her faithfull thrall | E |
that her great triumph which my skill exceeds | D |
I may in trump of fame blaze ouer all | E |
Then would I decke her head with glorious bayes | D |
and fill the world with her victorious prayse | D |
