Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBCBCCCCCDDBE nought dismayd that her vnmoued mind | A |
doth still persist in her rebellious pride | B |
such loue not lyke to lusts of baser kynd | B |
the harder wonne the firmer will abide | B |
The durefull Oake whose sap is not yet dride | B |
is long ere it conceiue the kindling fyre | C |
but when it once doth burne it doth diuide | B |
great heat and makes his flames to heauen aspire | C |
So hard it is to kindle new desire | C |
in gentle brest that shall endure for euer | C |
deepe is the wound that dints the parts entire | C |
with chast affects that naught but death can seuer | C |
Then thinke not long in taking litle paine | D |
to knit the knot that euer shall remaine | D |
