Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCCCCDCDEE| SO oft as I her beauty doe behold | A |
| And therewith doe her cruelty compare | B |
| I maruaile of what substance was the mould | A |
| the which her made attonce so cruell faire | B |
| Not earth for her high thoghts more heauenly are | C |
| not water for her loue doth burne like fyre | C |
| not ayre for she is not so light or rare | C |
| not fyre for she doth friese with faint desire | C |
| Then needs another Element inquire | C |
| whereof she mote be made that is the skye | D |
| for to the heauen her haughty lookes aspire | C |
| and eke her mind is pure immortall hye | D |
| Then sith to heauen ye lykened are the best | E |
| be lyke in mercy as in all the rest | E |
