Wants Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGHG IJIJ KLKL

WE women want too many thingsA
And first we call for happinessB
The careless boon the hour bringsA
The smile the song and the caressC
-
-
And when the fancy fades we cryD
Nay give us one on whom to spendE
Our heart's desire When Love goes byD
With folded wings we seek a friendE
-
-
And then our children come to proveF
Our hearts but slumbered and can wakeG
And when they go we're fain to loveH
Some other woman's for their sakeG
-
-
But when both love and friendship failI
We cry for duty work to doJ
Some end to gain beyond the paleI
Of self some height to journey toJ
-
-
And then before our task is doneK
With sudden weariness oppressedL
We leave the shining goal unwonK
And only ask for restL
