The Eumenides Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDDBCB

Think you we slept within the Delphic bowerA
What time our victim sought Apollo's graceB
Nay drawn into ourselves in that deep placeB
Where good and evil meet we bode our hourA
For not inexorable is our powerA
And we are hunted of the prey we chaseB
Soonest gain ground on them that flee apaceB
And draw temerity from hearts that cowerA
-
Shuddering we gather in the house of ruthC
And on the fearful turn a face of fearD
But they to whom the ways of doom are clearD
Not vainly named us the EumenidesB
Our feet are faithful in the paths of truthC
And in the constant heart we house at peaceB
