Mona Lisa Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDECFGGF

Yon strange blue city crowns a scarped steepA
No mortal foot hath bloodlessly essayedB
Dreams and illusions beacon from its keepA
But at the gate an Angel bares his bladeB
And tales are told of those who thought to gainC
At dawn its ramparts but when evening fellD
Far off they saw each fading pinnacleE
Lit with wild lightnings from the heaven of painC
Yet there two souls whom life's perversitiesF
Had mocked with want in plenty tears in mirthG
Might meet in dreams ungarmented of earthG
And drain Joy's awful chalice to the leesF
