True Love And New Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCAB DEFFGE HIJJHI

OVER the meadow and down the laneA
To the gate by the twisted thornB
Your feet should know each turn of the wayC
You trod so many many a dayC
Before the old love was put out of its painA
Before the new love was bornB
-
Kiss her hold her and fold her closeD
Tell her the old true taleE
You ought to know each turn of the phraseF
You learned them all in the poor old daysF
Before the birth of the new red roseG
Before the old rose grew paleE
-
And do not fear I shall creep to nightH
To make a third at your trystI
My ghost if it walked would only waitJ
To scare the others away from the gateJ
Where you teach your new love the old delightH
With the lips that your old love kissedI
