Town And Country Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EDED FDFD GDGD

THE Sun tells to Trafalgar SquareA
His old and radiant storyB
And touches in the young spring airA
The pepper pots to gloryB
-
-
Spring's robe down Piccadilly floatsC
The parks glow with her treasureD
And button holes of morning coatsC
Rhyme with her royal pleasureD
-
-
Now persons beautifully dressedE
In Bond street shop and saunterD
And town by Spring's soft breath caressedE
Would as its mistress vaunt herD
-
-
But far away from square and streetF
Where willows shine and shiverD
The splendour of her silver feetF
Is on the wood and riverD
-
-
She laughs among the tree roots brownG
Among the dewy cloverD
For Spring coquets but with the townG
The country is her loverD
